Plight of the Novice

Give me a chance please.
I’m really new to this
and you’re new to me.

I need some slack
because my feelings
for you are just evolving.

And I’m scared that
my feelings may die
if I fail for you.

It’s promising that
every day I am liking
you more but pointless
if this doesn’t show.

Should I show you this poem
or does it just take a kiss
to show that I am
always wanting you closer.
