Offline

I hear people use the word "offline" to mean "off of the internet" every now and then and it bugs the crap out of me. E.g. "I bought this offline" or "we should get tickets offline instead of waiting in line".

I try not to get all pedantic about word usage, but I think it's justified when someone's saying the opposite of what they mean. Like the people who use the word "literally" to emphasize some figurative statement they're making.

and how frequent people use the word "ignorant" in the wrong context. It's… ignorant, which is ironic.
