Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. Simply amazing. I dont read, and this book kept my attention through the whole read.

If you haven't read any of Terry Pratchet's Discworld novels, same on you! You should, because they are hilarious surreal fantasy stories with really interesting characters and settings.

I second Discworld.

I'm currently reading Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels; they're pretty good. Murder mysteries with vampires and general weirdness. And funny.

I second Palahnuik, widening it to any of his books, and third Discworld. Geek Love by Katherine Dunn is one of the best books ever. Also, David Sederis books. Also, Christopher Rice, The Snow Garden, is good.
