Dusty and barren before you.
Shadowed and fading behind.
The road cuts it's way through the darkness
And leads to more darkness in kind
The places you've left are but memories
forgotten as soon as they're gone
And the people you've met are all searching
For sunsets to come without dawns
The miles melt together like minutes
in the years you've been walking alone
And the end of the road is a pennance
claimed by the blind and their bones
