my boyfriend is asian - from the Philippines. We've been dating for over a year and a half. Over the summer I told the rest of the family that I had a boyfriend (my mom and sister knew) so my dad, grandma and grandpa all were told.

When I told my grandmother (on my dad's side they live with us) she was like "OH! Let me see a picture!"

The she saw that he had a dark complexion and said "What race is he?"

Me: Asian

Gma: OH! You mean Black and chinese

Me: No... Asian, you know pacific islander

Gma: Ah! I got it! Black and Japanese!

Me: He's not black and anything he's Filipino, you know the Philippines.

Gma: We use to buy Filipino babies.
