Salad

What is this crap? It's like little grains of sand in this lettuce. When I use my tongue to pin one down in my mouth and fish it out, it looks like a tiny rock. And I've found five or six so far. Is no one else noticing that we've been served sandy salad? There's no way that anyone else could have felt that same grinding squeaky feeling of sand between their teeth and not noticed it. Am I the only one with sand-salad, or just the only one pulling crap out of his mouth and staring at it in disbelief and irritation? Would it be impolite to throw the rest of this away and, if questioned, admit that I was freaked out by sand-laden lettuce and risk being officially labelled insane.
