Label

the label: I’m tired of people asking what’s going on between me and someone else, and generally even more sick of never knowing the right answer. I’ve found that it is what it is what it is, and not asking is the best way of not losing what you never had.

I asked her if we were boyfriend-and-girlfriend. She got this pained look on her face and asked why we needed labels. I couldn't come up with a good reason, but I wanted something to help give a concrete definition to what was happening between us. Without one, I felt lost and confused.

Fast forward to now. I'll do anything I have to to avoid labels, and that leaves some people in my life feeling like I did at the dawn of my first tragic highschool romance.

I guess I'm selfish.
