My friend said Ayahuasca was a bad idea, but most people do it expecting something like LSD. I am trying to probe my subconscious, not trip for recreation. That's what makes it a vision quest!

It's strongly urged to be cautious with anything DMT based. I've not done it yet myself because I'm not sure if I'm prepared, but all the research and advice-seeking I've done is to treat it with care and respect. If you're interested in it as a vision quest, then I trust you have at least the theory of respect down. But please take appropriate precautions- ensure comfortable set and setting, trip sitter, etc.
