Manic

My best friend since 5th grade is having a manic episode. She's making a lot of risky decisions, having unprotected sex, doordashing constantly and posting on social media constantly. I've tried to reach out several times. She's told me I'm not a good friend and says she doesn't want to be friends with me. She blocks me on everything. She gets married to a guy she barely knows and gets pregnant from unprotected sex. Her eyes look sleepy in every photo because she's not sleeping. Her eyes are dilated in pictures. It's like no one else sees this but me. I've worked in mental health for the last four years and I feel like the only person that cares for her safety. Her dad doesn't care, he enables it. I've told her to take her medication, develop a support system, be honest with your therapist and psychiatrist and she's not. She's not taking her meds either. It's her life. It is her life. But it's painful to watch her hurt herself without feeling complicit. She won't respond to my texts. I can't fall asleep at night. I think about her every day. The worry is constant. It doesn't help I have a tendency to ruminate obsessively. I just want her to be safe. It hurts to imagine we won't be friends anymore. I can't handle the uncertainty. I feel like I'm telling anyone with ears about it. I miss her. God, I miss her. All I do is miss her. I just want this manic episode to be over with already.
